Our Services

  • Smoke & Acoustical Penetrations

We seal smoke and acoustical penetrations and joints to prevent the transfer of smoke, sound, and airborne contaminants between building spaces. These specialized seals are essential in maintaining indoor air quality, ensuring occupant comfort, and meeting life safety requirements. Properly installed smoke and acoustical barriers not only improve safety but also enhance privacy and reduce noise transmission in sensitive areas.

  • Through Penetrations

Through penetrations occur when pipes, conduits, cables, or ducts pass through a fire-rated wall or floor. If not sealed correctly, they create a direct pathway for fire and smoke to spread. Our team specializes in installing UL-listed firestop systems for all types of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing penetrations. This critical work preserves the fire-resistance rating of the barrier, ensuring the building’s safety systems perform as intended during a fire or smoke-related event.

  • Joint Sealing

Fire resistive joint assemblies require UL listed firestop systems to be properly applied to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through floors and walls. We find this is one of the most misapplied firestop system in construction. Nashville Firestop understands the critical nature of joint sealing and our people are trained to apply the systems per UL.

  • Barrier Management

Nashville Firestop also performs barrier management inspections and repairs in healthcare facilities.  Our highly experienced team understands the importance of installing and repairing damaged penetrations per UL in preparation for Joint Commission inspections.  Our team is knowledgeable in the multitude of UL systems associated with all firestop manufacturers.

  • Engineered Judgements

Construction conditions often require specialized engineered judgements (EJ’s) from firestop manufacturers to satisfy state and local AHJ’s. Nashville Firestop has assisted many general contractors and prime subcontractors in developing and installing EJ’s correctly to gain compliance.
